Cloud Shopper, Marabu’s online check-in by Ink Innovation, now lets passengers handle baggage and extras before the airport, paying with cards or mobile wallets.
Ink Innovation has released a major upgrade to Marabu Airlines’ online check-in, giving passengers more control over their trip and reducing time spent at the airport. Travellers can now use the digital check-in experience to add cabin baggage, checked bags and sports items in a few steps on their phone or laptop, and pay using cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
The experience runs on Cloud Shopper, the online check-in journey that Ink Innovation delivers in partnership with Marabu. The new features form part of a broader move to shift common airport tasks to passengers’ own devices. This enables faster check-in, transparent baggage fees, and a more predictable passenger experience.

Once check-in opens, Ink’s system sends passengers an email invitation to start the process online. During check-in, they see what is included in their fare, what it costs to add baggage or sports equipment, and what they will pay if they exceed the included weight allowance. They choose the options they need, pay immediately, and arrive at the airport with their extras already booked.
For Marabu, this update is designed to reduce queues and last-minute disputes at the airport. Staff can focus on complex cases instead of routine add-on baggage sales.
Johannes Haage, Senior Head of Operational Development & Strategy at Marabu Airlines for Cloud Shopper, said:
“Most customers know if they are taking a suitcase, skis or golf clubs well before they reach the airport. We want them to sort that out at home, at a clear price, rather than standing in a line hoping there are no extra fees. Extending our Cloud Shopper online check-in with baggage and sports equipment services, and adding common payment options, lets us offer a more convenient and predictable experience.”
Behind the scenes, Ink has integrated Cloud Shopper with the pricing, payment, and operational systems used by Marabu, so that offers, orders, and receipts match what airport staff see.
Ink and Marabu began work on Cloud Shopper in June 2024, with the first phase completed in October 2024, which included the core online check-in journey, seat selection, and AI-driven pricing for ancillaries. The new baggage, sports equipment, and payment features are the latest step in this multi-stage Cloud Shopper roadmap, with further services, such as meals and other extras, to be added into the same digital journey.
