Nicolas Voss, Passenger Supervisor at Lübeck Airport, shared insights into the unique challenges faced by regional airports. Meeting the same service standards as larger airports can be demanding with a smaller staff.
However, Lübeck Airport capitalises on its strengths – easy navigation, short distances, and fast processing times – to stand out. Here, digital transformation plays a vital role.
In 2020, they embarked on a complete renovation. While the upgraded facilities provided a fresh and modern environment, one crucial piece remained missing: an advanced departure control and check-in system.
That's where Ink came in.

From legacy to new: a historic airport embraces innovation
Lübeck Airport boasts a rich and fascinating history. Founded in 1917 as a military base, it played a pivotal role in the Berlin Airlift after World War II. Today, this 107-year-old airport, under private ownership since 2016, embraces a future powered by innovation. Construction of a new remote tower, congress area and restaurants is in progress.
