ZED Airlines selects Ink Innovation’s cloud-native DCS and mobile tools to modernise passenger handling and ensure operational continuity for critical Haiti–Brazil flight routes.
ZED Airlines SA, a Haitian-based carrier and critical link for the Haiti–Brazil family reunification programme, has partnered with Ink Innovation to modernise its operations and secure business resilience amidst challenging regional conditions.
The airline is implementing Ink’s cloud-native Departure Control System (DCS) and mobile passenger handling tools to replace manual processes and enhance its ability to operate in volatile environments.
Agile technology for a shifting operational landscape
In late January 2026, ZED Airlines was forced to temporarily suspend operations at its main hub in Port-au-Prince following security incidents. To maintain its vital services, the carrier has initiated a "hub-bypass" strategy, shifting momentary primary operations to Cap-Haïtien (CAP).
The adoption of Ink mobile DCS—Ink Touch, a mobile passenger handling suite—is designed to enable ZED Airlines to rapidly move check-in operations. This hardware-light approach allows the airline to process passengers without relying on fixed airport infrastructure, which is essential for maintaining operational capacity during regional disruptions.
Enhancing high-stakes migration corridors
ZED Airlines serves as a vital humanitarian lifeline, moving passengers on the Port-au-Prince–Brazil route. Most of these passengers are part of family reunification programmes with time-sensitive visas.
The new system aims to ensure these high-stakes journeys are managed with greater precision through:
- Ink mobile agent, Ink Touch: Allowing staff to handle passenger services on the move, which is critical for maintaining operations during disruptions.
- Automated Load Control: Ensuring flight safety for ZED Airline’s fleet of regional jets, including Embraer, Boeing and Airbus, through automated weight and balance.
Safety and Compliance: Modernising data collection and verification to meet international standards.
Leadership perspectives
Edson Bezerra, Business Development, Americas, Ink Innovation, commented:
"By providing ZED Airlines with both desktop and mobile DCS, Ink is giving the airline operational freedom. When traditional airport infrastructure in Port-au-Prince became inaccessible, the flexibility of Ink’s mobile solution was identified as a key factor in allowing the airline to maintain its mission of connecting families safely."
Ivan Alexander Tinoco, General Manager of ZED Airlines, added:
"We sought a modern, agile, and resilient solution to replace manual processes. Ink’s technology allows us to function reliably in challenging environments and reduces our reliance on fixed infrastructure, which is critical for our mission to connect the Haitian diaspora."
Network and Implementation
Under the contract, ZED Airlines will deploy Ink’s solutions across its network as it expands services to the United States and Canada. Implementation began in February 2026 to cover operations on the following key locations:
- Haïti : Cap-Haïtien (CAP), Jacmel (JAK), Jérémie (JEE) et Les Cayes (CYA).
- International hubs: Medellín (MDE), São Paulo (VCP), Montreal (YUL), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and Havana (HAV).
ZED Airlines SA is a Haitian regional and international carrier headquartered in Delmas, Port-au-Prince. It specialises in the Haiti–Brazil migration corridor, providing essential air links for the Haitian diaspora through both scheduled and charter services.
